What the license means for players
Online gambling in Colombia is open only to adults who live in Colombia, and the address on the player's account must be in Colombian territory. Players must prove their identity, update their personal data every year, and an account with no play for six months is suspended. Operators must offer self-exclusion and run customer service around the clock. A player whose complaint gets no answer from the operator can write to Coljuegos at contactenos@coljuegos.gov.co. Illegal sites can be reported to denunciealilegal@coljuegos.gov.co or on the free line 01 8000 180 417.

Legal status and tax
Coljuegos is the state industrial and commercial company that administers the monopoly on games of chance in Colombia. Article 38 of Law 643 of 2001, as amended by article 93 of Law 1753 of 2015, classes games operated over the internet as novel games and lets Coljuegos regulate them. A game counts as operated over the internet when both the bet and the payment of prizes happen only online, after the player registers on the authorised site. The rules for these games are set in Coljuegos Agreement 8 of 2020, amended by Agreements 2 of 2021 and 6 of 2023, and in Agreement 1 of 2026, and the requirements and guarantees for a concession in Resolution 20161200025334 of 2016.
The exploitation rights an operator pays Coljuegos are 15 percent of gross gaming income minus prizes paid, for each type of game, declared and paid within the first ten working days of the following month. An operator that falls short of the 83 percent return to players must settle the difference at a rate of 17 percent of gross income for that game and period. An administration fee adds 1 percent of the exploitation rights. Coljuegos tells players that this money goes to the subsidised health system.

How do I check if a casino holds a Colombia license?
Type the casino name or its web address into the search on this page, which reads the Coljuegos register every day. A real licensee appears there under its own name. Coljuegos publishes a table of the companies authorised to run online gambling in Colombia. Each row gives the company, its website, the number of its concession contract with a link to the signed contract, and its customer service contacts. On 24 October 2026 the table listed 14 companies on 14 websites, every one on a .co address, while the text under the table speaks of 16 legal sites. The table shows no dates. Coljuegos also publishes a downloadable list of illegal gambling websites. Our search shows a domain from that list when it carries the name of a casino brand licensed in one of the registers we read, such as look-alike addresses of Wplay or Rushbet.
